ELECTRONIC MEGOHMMETER - Insulation test up to 10 TOhm

Many experienced technicians consider that insulation measurement are best performed with analogue instruments, because they get useful information from the pointer displacement along the time. This equipment is specially indicated for that people, because it is a true analogue, simple to use, cost effective, insulation resistance tester. Insulation of low voltage in electrical systems, transformers, motors, cables, electro-medical equipment and installations, distribution networks, etc., the measurement are easily performed with great reliability, using this instrument.

This general purposes megohmmeter is a truly portable equipment suitable to measure insulation resistances using test voltages up to 5 kV. It employs high-reliable, state-of-the-art technology for accurate measurements of ultra high insulation resistances up to 10.000.000 MOhm with four test voltages: 0,5 kV - 1 kV - 2,5 kV - 5 kV. Readings are performed through an easy-to-read analogue indicator having a broad scale.

Key features:

  • Four test voltages: 0,5 kV - 1 kV - 2,5 kV - 5 kV

  • Insulation test up to 10.000.000MΩ

  • Multiple ranges for accuracy improvement

  • Taut-band analogue meter

  • Guard terminal

  • High accuracy

  • Weather resistant

  • IP-54 protection

  • Rechargeable battery

SMART MEGOHMMETER

This instruments is a smart, microprocessor-controlled, 5 kV insulation tester. Besides the conventional measurement of insulation resistances up to 5 TΩ, its advanced features allow to automatically measure both the Polarization Index and Dielectric Absorption Index, thus significantly simplifying testing of transformers.

Several features are available in this equipment: Step Voltage Test, Built-in printer, Real-time clock and calendar, programmable pass-fail test. This insulation resistance tester is a portable, battery-powered equipment. Test voltage may be chosen from 500 V to 5 kV in 100 V steps.

Due to its measurement principle (actual voltage and current readings) it is a "true megohmmeter" and so the accuracy of resistance measurement is not affected by any test voltage error. Nevertheless, the High-Voltage generator is electronically stabililized with a better than 2% accuracy in open-circuit condition and for any normal operation battery voltage. The built-in chronometer automatically counts the elapsed time since the start of measurement. Measured values are transmitted through the serial output (RS-232) and may be logged using a Lap-Top, PDA, or any data-logger for their later analysis. Key features:

  • Microprocessor controlled

  • Insulation test up to 5 TΩ

  • Test voltages: 0,5 kV to 5 kV in 100 V steps

  • Short circuit current: 1,5 ± 0,5 mA

  • Automatic measurement of Dielectric Absorption Index (DAI)

  • Automatic measurement of Polarization Index (PI)

  • Step Voltage Test (SVT)

  • Built-in memory for up to 4000 measured values

  • Built-in printer

  • Real-time clock and calendar

  • Programmable Pass-fail test

15kVDC Megohmmeter

This megohmmeter / Hi-Pot is built with the most advanced high voltage technology available.

The combination DC Hipot/high voltage Megohmmeter makes the PM15-2 extremely versatile and thus valuable for field or in-house applications. It incorporates a variable overcorrect trip circuit which will instantly de-energize the high voltage power supply if such a condition is encountered. The trip setting can be as low as 10% or as high as approximately 110% of full scale reading.

Overcurrent trip is indicated by an audible alarm. The unit will go into current limiting state at approximately 110% of full current output rating. Designed with the technician in mind, the PM15-2 utilizes the latest in switching power supply technology which produces less ripple (.4% pk-pk at full output) and brings the total weight of the unit down to an incredible 15lbs (6.8 kgs). Key features:

  • Integral megohmmeter measures insulation resistance up to 1,000,000 MOhms @ 5kV, 2,000,000 MOhms @ 10kV, and 3,000,000 MOhms @ 15kV.

  • Output voltage is continuously variable to 15 kVDC

  • Zero Start. Safety interlock

  • Adjustable overcurrent trip point

  • Large easy-to-read analog meters

  • Fully regulated output voltage

  • Internal short circuit protection

  • Illuminated pushbutton Guard Mode selection bypasses stray or unwanted leakage current

  • Off Zero and overcurrent trip buzzer

AUTO RANGING INSULATION TESTER

  • Auto Range for Mega Ohm

  • 40 Segments Analog Display

  • 4 Digital LCD, 4000 count

  • TEST HOLD Function For Easy Operation

  • Easy to carry testing package

  • Discharge indication Beeper For MΩ Range

  • >1mA Test current for MΩ range at rated Voltage

  • >200 mA Short current for Continuity Range

When doing power installation, this insulation tester can provide some special helps. When doing insulation test, it can provide 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V source for the test and under each range it can supply more 1 mA current to feed the capacitance load. With the autorange function, it can measure up to 4000 MegaOhm with the resolution of 1 kOhm.

When doing the continuity test, the tester can source 200 mA to distinguish the bad connections. By its build in autorange function, on the same function range can measure up to 4 kOhm with the resolution 0f 0,1 Ohm.
